Welcome to the Life’s A Beach Stitchalong! This is a fun and easy to stitch piece, building up a picture of cartoon animals enjoying a day out on the beach. It’s a bit like a weekly version of my Penguins and Polar Bears Advent Calendar SALs!

The stitchalong starts on 5th March 2027. The unusually early launch is so that you can buy SAL packs and/or materials alongside Periodic Table Stitchalong packs if you wish!

Stitchalong packs containing fabric and matching needle minder are available for pre-order only until 25 October 2026 – do check them out :-)

A new small section of the pattern is emailed out every Friday from 5th March 2027 to 24th September 2027, so you’ll have a little new stitchy gift every weekend for over half the year!

When you purchase the stitchalong, you will receive by instant download an introductory PDF booklet. The booklet gives all the information you need to prepare to stitch the pattern. This includes a thread list, pattern size, and suggestions on choosing fabric. You will also receive comprehensive stitching instructions.

Note that the initial download link will be sent to the email address given in your order, not to the email address you've typed in the request box, if the two are different. There will also be a link to download the file directly from the completed order page. The files are sent as PDFs in one zip file. Please unzip the file (right click > extract all) after downloading, and then you can open each PDF within the file.

You will then receive the pattern installments by email on the following dates:

The stitched area of the finished piece is: 135 stitches wide x 175 stitches high

On 14 count fabric this is approximately 9.6 x 12.5 inches or 24.5 x 31.8 cm
On 16 count fabric this is approximately 8.4 x 10.9 inches or 21.4 x 27.8 cm
On 18 count fabric this is approximately 7.5 x 9.7 inches or 19.1 x 24.7 cm

Other count fabrics can be used - just adjust the sizing accordingly.

These dimensions do not include the border of fabric you will need to leave around the design. I recommend you leave a further 2-3 inches all the way round (which means that you need to add 4-6 inches to your size measurements).

The pattern was model stitched on 16 count ‘Fabric Flair Tea Stain’ printed fabric. This fabric is a sandy colour to give a beachy feel! If you want to use a different fabric, there are many fabrics in sandy colours available, or you could go for a blue fabric to represent the sea and sky (which also feature in the piece). Ideally avoid white fabric, so that white stitches show up, and also avoid dark fabric - a medium-coloured piece of fabric is best.

Don’t forget that for a very limited time I am selling stitchalong packs with fabric and needle minders (or you can also buy the fabric and/or needle minder separately)!

31 thread colours are used in the design.

The pattern features full cross stitches, backstitch, four fractional cross stitches, one fractional backstitch and nine French knots.

On each section release date you will receive two pattern booklets, one with colour patterns and one with black & white patterns (with colour backstitch). The pattern booklets include split page and single page patterns of the whole piece so far, and a close up pattern

Skill level: Suitable for those with a little experience of cross stitch.

Pattern is model stitched by Jenni Course.

Patterns are for personal use only.
