This listing is to purchase the Travel the World Stitchalong! Over nine months you will tour the world by stitching a famous landmark in each continent, with two continents featured twice. You will start in Africa with the Egyptian Pyramids, and then travel far and wide from the comfort of your stitching chair. Each image is detailed and accurate.

The pattern uses primarily full cross stitches, with a small amount of backstitch and French knots. Each picture is 36 x 36 stitches square. There is additional stitching of the grid in the first section, and further additional stitching in the final section.

This is a mystery stitchalong, so you won’t see the other landmarks until they are revealed each month. The stitchalong runs for 9 months, from January to September 2022. After the 9 sections you will have built up a beautiful picture for anyone who loves our world.

When you purchase the Stitchalong you will be emailed an introductory booklet with details of all the materials you will need, and the pattern booklets released so far. This is not an instant download, so please allow time for me to email it to you. The remaining pattern sections will then be emailed to you on the following dates, at 9am UK time:

Part 6: 10th June 2022
Part 7: 10th July 2022
Part 8: 10th August 2022
Part 9: 10th September 2022

The stitched area of the finished piece (not including any fabric margin) is: 132 stitches wide x 154 stitches high
On 14 count fabric this is approximately 9.4 x 11.0 inches or 24.0 x 27.9 cm
On 16 count fabric this is approximately 8.3 x 9.6 inches or 21.0 x 24.4 cm
Other count fabrics can be used - just adjust the sizing accordingly.

The pattern would go well with most fabrics, so feel free to stitch it on whatever you would like best! If using a darker green you might want to change the colours of the gridlines to a different colour which would go better with your fabric. The model was stitched on 16 count ‘Woodland’ aida from Lakeside Needlecraft. You will need 60 DMC colours - less than 1 skein of each colour.

Each month you will receive two pattern booklets, one with colour patterns and one with black & white patterns. The pattern booklets include split page and single page patterns, an enlarged pattern of that month's section, and a brief description of the landmark you are stitching that month.

Skill level: Suitable for those with experience of cross stitch.

Pattern is model stitched by Angie Sanders.

The pattern is provided in both color and b&w, in small and exploded view. It is well-charted and interesting, so far. Can’t wait to see the patterns over the next several months.
