Wonders of the Solar System - Astronomy cross stitch pattern
This listing is to purchase the Wonders of the Solar System cross stitch pattern. This was previously released as a stitchalong, and the full pattern is now available. The pattern has realistic depictions of all the planets in the Solar System, along Pluto, the Sun, a comet, two asteroids and a Kuiper Belt Object, against a backdrop of stars and constellations.
This pattern was featured in the 200th issue of BBC Sky at Night magazine. You can take a detailed tour of the pattern on YouTube here.
If you would like to purchase individual patterns for any of the planets, the Sun or Pluto, please contact me.
The planets are all accurately sized relative to each other in terms of logarithms (this is explained in the booklets), and I’ve taken great care to make the pattern as accurate as possible, within the limitations of cross stitch.
You will receive two 38-page pattern booklet PDFs, one with colour patterns and one with black & white patterns. The booklets contain:
- Image of the completed piece
- The full pattern on one page, for screen use
- The full pattern over nine pages, for printing
- Close up single page patterns of every planet, the Sun and Pluto
- Comprehensive instructions
- Detailed explanations of everything you are stitching as you tour the Solar System
- A key to the constellations featured in the background stars
You will also receive full cross stitch instructions.
If you’re not already in the Climbing Goat Designs stitchers Facebook group, please come and join us there if you’d like to chat and share your progress. And to share on Instagram the stitchalong hashtag is #SolarSystemSAL

On 14 count fabric this is approximately 14.8 x 17.1 inches or 37.6 x 43.5 cm
On 16 count fabric this is approximately 12.9 x 15.0 inches or 32.8 x 38.1 cm
